Project description
As home storage systems are becoming increasingly important for an energy supply from renewable energy sources and the number of installations continues to rise, the DGS, together with TÜV, Fraunhofer ISE and ZSW, has been investigating the performance and safety aspects of battery home storage systems in a joint project since 2014. The aim is to determine the current status, identify existing safety gaps and make recommendations for action, as well as advance standardisation work. The focus is on product safety and handling during installation, as well as analysing potential fire risks and investigating suitable fire-fighting strategies.
