PVLOTSE

The consulting project for old PV systems

Project period

May 2019 until April 2021

Project management

DGS - LV Berlin Brandenburg e.V.

Funding organisations

Federal Environment Agency (UBA)

Project description

The aim of the PVLOTSE project is to ensure the continued operation of photovoltaic systems after the EEG subsidy expires after 20 years of operation. The aim is to prevent these systems from being dismantled or decommissioned due to a lack of prospects following the discontinuation of the feed-in tariff.

The Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) was first passed in 2000. This means that the few photovoltaic systems from the early EEG period (built in 2000 or earlier) will no longer be eligible for EEG remuneration from 1 January 2021. This will affect more and more systems later on.

The DGS e.V. (federal association) and four state associations of the DGS (Berlin Brandenburg, Franken e.V., Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein and NRW) are involved in the project. The project draws on the DGS's nationwide experience with enquiries from state authorities, local authorities and plant operators, as well as extensive specialist and technical experience.

The PVLOTSE project started on 1 May 2019 with internal work and has been publicly launched since December 2019. The project will run until 30 April 2021. PVLOTSE is funded by the Federal Environment Agency (UBA).
