German Society for Solar Energy - Regional Association Berlin Brandenburg e.V.
The association's goal is to supply the whole of Germany with 100 % of renewable energy on a sustainable basis by 2040.

DGS Regional Association Berlin Brandenburg and Federal Association
The German Society for Solar Energy e.V.
Founded in 1975, after the oil crisis at the time, the DGS is now the oldest »solar association« in Germany. Around 2,800 members from all parts of the population currently support the DGS's work, which is always independent.
DGS - Landesverband Berlin Brandenburg e.V.
We have been a partner in research projects since 1982 and offer professional training and technical services. We produce technical books, work on standards and committees and provide individual advice on the use of solar energy. We have also been involved internationally for years in the development of educational programmes and maintain many collaborations.

Solar projects - help shape and lead the way
With our projects, we want to advance the energy transition both nationally and internationally. Our aim is to establish solar technology in a wide range of applications at home and abroad. We continuously initiate and support projects for research, practical testing, standardisation, education, promotion, communication and networking. Read more ...
SolarAkademie - up-to-date, well-founded and comprehensive
Independent of manufacturers and products, our seminars offer you in-depth expertise in the field of solar power and heat generation. The content of our training courses is geared towards the current requirements and framework conditions of the respective specialist areas as well as current and future standards and norms. We are happy to offer in-house training courses for your individual specialisations on request.
Since the launch of our seminar programme, we have already trained more than 7,000 architects, planners, engineers, tradespeople and sales staff. Read more ...
SolarServices - independent and recognised worldwide
Technical project inspections, system approvals, yield, damage and glare assessments as well as comprehensive technical advice are just some of our wide-ranging services. We have supported a large number of projects since 1988. These include support for the »Bund-Länder-1000-Dächer-Photovoltaik-Programm« and in Berlin the co-initiation of the »Solare Regierungsviertel«. Your project will benefit from our many years of experience from more than 1,700 expert reports on solar thermal and photovoltaic systems on five continents.
Nationally and internationally, banks, financial service providers and insurance companies recognise the independent expert opinions of DGS Berlin. Project developers and EPCs worldwide accept them. Read more...
Publications - up-to-date, well-founded and comprehensive
The lack of practice-orientated specialist literature led our experts to decide to take action themselves. The first edition of the guide to solar thermal systems was produced and published in 1995. In 2000, the portfolio was expanded to include the Photovoltaic Systems Guide, currently in its 5th edition. Both compendiums are standard works in their fields and have been translated into various languages. In 2024, the guide became the project pv-wissen.de, Since then, the content has also been available online as a knowledge portal.
DGS Federal Association
Committed to our goal, members, volunteers and full-time employees support the introduction of new technologies, the use of energy-saving techniques and the rational use of energy.
A key aspect of the DGS's work is to advance research into renewable energies and to promote the implementation of research findings in practice. In addition, the transfer of specialised knowledge and public relations work are essential components. With its work, the DGS strives to improve the technical availability, social acceptance and legal framework conditions for renewable energies and also sees itself as a mediator between science, architecture, the construction industry, trade, industry, authorities and parliaments.
The DGS is a recognised consumer protection association according to § 22 AGBG. It represents the interests of consumers and users in the areas of renewable energies and the rational use of energy.
